As global temperatures rise it heats the worlds oceans causing coral reef ecosystems to suffer. The algae that provide the coral with energy are expelled as the temperature rises causing the coral to starve and die resulting in massive bleaching events to occur. What was once a colorful, vibrant living ecosystem is now a haunting, lifeless seafloor of monochromatic skeletons.
