The images in this series of photographs evoke a different emotion from the previous two series. The convoluted nature of these images are more chaotic, more aggressive. In some of these, instead of trying to hide the highlights, I decided to embrace them and incorporate them as part of the overall composition of the photo.
As global temperatures rise it heats the worlds oceans causing coral reef ecosystems to suffer. The algae that provide the coral with energy are expelled as the temperature rises causing the coral to starve and die resulting in massive bleaching events to occur. What was once a colorful, vibrant living ecosystem is now a haunting, lifeless seafloor of monochromatic skeletons.
